GLIAC Awards Policy

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) mandates specific verbiage for the variety of championships achieved by our athletic programs. For programs who achieve GLIAC Tournament Championships, the winning program must promote and display the word "Tournament" on all celebratory apparel purchased/created (banners, rings, shirts, etc.) when referring to themselves as GLIAC Tournament Champions. GLIAC Tournament Champions are prohibited from using the phrase "GLIAC Champions" without the word 'Tournament' included.

Winners of GLIAC regular season championships and those titles accomplished in sports where there is no regular-season GLIAC standings (golf, cross country, swimming and diving, track and field) are permitted to use the phrase "GLIAC Champions" on all possible mediums.
