GLIAC -- The 2017-18 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) competition year is complete and the results have been tabulated. The Grand Valley State Lakers have captured their 25th GLIAC Presidents' Trophy and sit atop the conference standings for the 20th consecutive season.

GVSU collected 172.0 points and 13 league championships during the 2017-18 season, including eight titles and 104 points in women's competition along with five championships and 68 points in men's action.

Ashland earned its 13th straight runner-up finish with 122 points after capturing the football and women's basketball titles to finish ahead of Tiffin in third with 110 points. Wayne State placed fourth with a 105-point total with Saginaw Valley State one-point-five points back in fifth.

The GLIAC Presidents' Trophy standings are based on final regular season standings except for the following sports that are based on conference tournament finish: cross country, golf, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, swimming & diving.

The Presidents' Trophy, commonly referred to as the All-Sports Trophy, is awarded at the end of each year of competition to the conference member having demonstrated general excellence in all or most sports. The award is designed to promote well-rounded athletic programs within each member institution.
