Tiseo Named Assistant Athletic Director at SVSU

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Alex Tiseo was hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Academic Services in December 2011. Tiseo comes to Saginaw Valley after spending the previous year at the University of California, Riverside as the program’s Athletics Development Coordinator.

"I am excited and honored to become a part of the Saginaw Valley athletics family.  The coaches and administrators here have worked extremely hard to foster an environment that sees our student-athletes succeed in the classroom as well as on the playing field.  I look forward to joining in their efforts as we continue to enhance the student-athlete experience at SVSU," commented Tiseo.

Tiseo comes to SVSU with a wide array of experiences in athletics administration. Prior to his time at UC Riverside, Tiseo served as an intern for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) from 2010-2011. While at NACDA, Tiseo aided in the administration of the Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) and the National Association of Athletics Development Directors (NAADD).

From 2008-2010, Tiseo worked at Baldwin-Wallace College as a graduate assistant for the athletics department. In addition to earning a master's degree in business administration during that time, he was responsible for all of the CHAMPS/Life Skills programming efforts and also served as advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). 

“We are very pleased to add Alex to our staff.  He brings an energy that will be contagious among our staff and student-athletes,” stated Athletic Director Mike Watson.

The Marquette, Michigan native attended Michigan Tech University, where he was a four-year member of the football team, served as Chair of the Michigan Tech, GLIAC and NCAA Division II SAACs, and also held seats on the NCAA Division II Legislative and Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committees. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from MTU in 2008.
