Armstrong Atlantic Names Adam Tom Assistant AD for Game and Facility Operations

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State University athletic department has announced the hiring of former GLIAC intern Adam Tom as its new Assistant Athletic Director for Game and Facility Operations.

Tom joins the Pirates from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), where he served as the league's External Affairs intern. He also served as the stadium manager for Saginaw Valley State's Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial football stadium since 2008.

Prior to working for the GLIAC, Tom served as an assistant baseball coach for SVSU for three seasons from 2008-10, and he has also served internships in the Central Michigan University athletic department as well as the Lexington (Ky.) Horsemen Arena football team.

"I'm looking forward to have Adam join our Pirate Athletic team," Armstrong Athletic Director Lisa Sweany said. "He brings with him a strong work ethic, solid organizational skills and - most importantly - a sincere enthusiasm to get the job done right. He will be a vital member of the senior administrative staff at Armstrong, assuming a large role in creating a positive experience for our student-athletes."

Tom graduated from Central Michigan University in 2008 with his Master's of Science degree in Administration with a concentration in Sports Administration. He earned his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Education from the University of Kentucky in 2005, majoring in kinesiology. Tom was a member of the University of Kentucky football team from 2000-04.

Tom will begin his position at Armstrong on July 23rd.
