Kris Hengesbach Named Director of Internal  Operations at the GLIAC

Bay City, Mich. — Dell Robinson, Commissioner of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), announced the hiring of Kris Hengesbach for the position of Director of Internal Operations. Kris began her duties with the GLIAC on August 29, 2012.

Hengesbach was most recently an intern for the Northwood University Athletic Department in Midland, Michigan. She worked directly with the Assistant Athletic Director and assisted with compliance regulations, game management and ticket reconciliation.

Head varsity coach at Nouvel Central Catholic High School for 12 years, Hengesbach holds an overall record of 206-44 as of 2-27-2011. Nouvel Central Catholic advanced to one Class B and two Class C State Championship games, winning back to back Class C State Championships..

Hengesbach has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Health Science from Alma College in 1987, where she was a three sport athlete playing Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. She was the MIAA MVP in Basketball in 1986 and 1987, and is a member of the Alma College Hall of Fame Inductee.

Hengesbach is currently working towards acquiring her Masters of Art in Sports Administration from Central Michigan University. Kris and her husband, Pat, and two daughters, Taylor and Charley, reside in Saginaw, Michigan.

“Kris will provide a tremendous upside to our business and conference internal operations,” stated GLIAC Commissioner Dell Robinson. “The experiences from her background in the business sector and educational background will take the GLIAC staff to the next level. The GLIAC welcomes Kris and her family.”
