CLEVELAND - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) placed seven institutions in the Top 100 of the Final Fall 2013-14 D-II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings.

Eight-time champion Grand Valley State University increased its lead in the Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings thanks to a third place finish in football and ninth place finish in women’s volleyball. The Lakers finished the fall with 437 total points. GVSU also placed first in women's cross country, first in women's soccer and second in men's cross country this Fall.
Ferris State University currently resides in 24th place with 140.50 total points. The Bulldogs placed fifth in women's volleyball, tenth in men's cross country.
Ohio Dominican University sits in 42nd place with a 103.00 points after the completion of the fall sports. The Panthers finished 9th in football, 17th in men's soccer.
Saginaw Valley State University placed 53rd place with a 91.00 points in the standings after the Cardinals finished 11th in women's cross country, and 17th in football.
Three other GLIAC institution finished in the top 100 in the final fall standings, Ashland University (62nd), Hillsdale College (87th), and Tiffin University (99th) also rank in the top 100 for the GLIAC.
To date, seven fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women’s cross country – Grand Valley State; men’s cross country – Adams State; field hockey – Shippensburg; women’s soccer – Grand Valley State; men’s soccer – Southern New Hampshire; women’s volleyball – Concordia St. Paul; football – Northwest Missouri State.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women’s and seven men’s.
The first Division II winter standings will be released Thursday, March 14.
