CLEVELAND - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) placed 10 institutions in the Top 100 of the final winter 2013-14 D-II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings.

Eight-time champion Grand Valley State University holds onto the lead in the Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings thanks to a fourth place finish in women's indoor track and field and a sixth place finish in men's indoor track and field. The Lakers currently have 718 total points. GVSU also placed tenth in both men's and women's swimming and diving during the winter season.
Ashland University currently is in seventh place with 395.50 total points. The Eagles placed third in men's indoor track and field and fifth place in women's indoor track and field, 14th place in men's wrestling, while also finishing in 18th and 20th place in men's and women's swimming and diving, repsectively.
Wayne State sits at in 36th with 239.00 points, placing second in women's swimming and diving and third in men's swimming and diving, while also placing fifth in men's basketball.
University of Findlay sits in 37th place with 238.50 points. The Oilers finished eigth in men's indoor track and field, and 13th in men's wrestling.
Northern Michigan came in 42nd place with a 216.25 points in the standings coming in seventh in skiing, and also coming in at number 12 for women's swimming and diving.
Five other GLIAC institution finished in the top 100 in the final fall standings, Hillsdale College (56), Tiffin University (58), Ferris State University (66), Lake Erie College (81), and Michigan Technological University (92) round out the top 100.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women’s and seven men’s.
The first Division II spring standings will be released Thursday, May 22.
