Grand Valley State earns 29th GLIAC Presidents' Trophy

2022-23 GLIAC Presidents' Trophy Final Standings

GLIAC -- The 2022-23 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) competition year is complete and the final standings of the annual Presidents' Trophy have been tabulated. The Grand Valley State Lakers have captured their 29th GLIAC Presidents' Trophy and are positioned atop the conference standings for the 24th consecutive season.

GVSU collected 141.5 total points and 15 league championships during the 2022-23 season, including nine titles and 81.0 points in women's competition along with six championships and 60.5 points in men's action.

Saginaw Valley State earned its second-consecutive runner-up finish with 101.5 points, ahead of Wayne State State in third with 87.0 points. Ferris State placed fourth with a 82.5-point total, followed by Davenport (76.0) and Northern Michigan (74.0).

The GLIAC Presidents' Trophy standings are based on final regular season standings except for the following sports that are based on conference tournament finish: cross country, golf, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field, swimming & diving.

The Presidents' Trophy is awarded at the end of each year of competition to the conference member having demonstrated general excellence in all or most sports. The award is designed to promote well-rounded athletic programs within each member institution.
