Senior goalkeeper Andrea Strauss, an allied health sciences major with a 3.698 GPA, helped the Grand Valley State women's soccer team capture its second consecutive NCAA Championship, a share of its 10th straight GLIAC regular season title and an eighth consecutive GLIAC Tournament crown. A Daktronics, Inc. All-Midwest Region Second Team selection, Strauss posted the eighth-lowest goals against average (0.423) in Division II this season. The Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the NCAA Tournament posted 16 solos shutouts, five of which came in the postseason.

Strauss also led the GLIAC in save percentage (.880). Strauss, who also garnered a Capital One Academic All-America Third Team nod, saved two of her best performances for the NCAA Semifinals and NCAA Championship. In a shootout with No. 6 Saint Rose, Strauss stopped all three penalty kicks, sending GVSU to its fifth national title match in six seasons. Once there, Strauss matched her career high with seven saves, shutting out No. 8 Rollins to clinch the national championship. The Troy, Michigan native ended her career ranked fourth in school history with a 0.41 goals against average, .883 save percentage and 16 solo shutouts.
