Northwood senior linebacker Michael Fisher earned his second GLIAC  Commissioner’s Award to conclude his standout career in the classroom and on the field. 

On the field, he finished his career by ending the regular season leading the GLIAC in total tackles for the third straight year, totaling 115 stops. He also had 5.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and two interceptions. Fisher finished his career with 430 tackles, 58 more than any other player in school history. He earned All-GLIAC honors three times– First Team (2014, 2016), Second Team (2015). Fisher finished the year ranked fourth among active players in all of division II in career tackles. He was named Second Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA for the second time at the conclusion of the 2016 season. 

Off the field, Fisher has been one of the best student-athletes in the GLIAC over this four-year career. He graduated from Northwood with a 3.91 grade point average while earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence honors four times. Fisher also was named the male recipient of the

David & Daniel Goetz Scholar-Athlete Award winner, given annually to a student-athlete who combines outstanding athletic and academic achievements.
