GLIAC Supervisor of Softball Umpires - Bill Gomoluch

       Bill Gomoluch has served as the Supervisor of Softball Umpires since July 1, 2012.

     Gomoluch, a former GLIAC umpire who currently works the majority of his schedule in NCAA Division I softball play, becomes the first Supervisor of Softball Umpires in league history. He assumes this role in conjunction with his duties as the Supervisor of Softball Umpires for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).

    Among his many highlights, Gomoluch began his umpiring career in 1986 and worked the MHSAA State Finals in 1996.  Since beginning his collegiate umpiring career in 1989, Bill has worked numerous conference tournaments including the WHAC, GLIAC, Horizon, Mid-America and Conference USA tournaments.

      Gomoluch has served as the Umpire-In-Chief for the last four (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011) National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Softball Championships, as well as working in the last two (2010, 2011) NCAA Division I regional tournaments.

     Gomoluch recently retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections after a 28-year career.  Bill, and his wife, Jena, currently live in Deerfield, Michigan.  The couple has three adult offspring and five grandchildren.
