Redhawks Down Pioneers in Non-Conference Contest

The Malone University women's soccer team lost its road contest to non-conference opponent Roberts Wesleyan College (NY) by a final score of 4-0 on Saturday night.

The Redhawks jumped to an early 1-0 lead as they scored their first goal 55 seconds into the first half. They would go on to score in the 33rd minute to increase the lead 2-0. The score would stay the same at intermission.

The Pioneers were able to hold the Redhawks off the scoreboard for most of the second half, until Ellie Swan would score in the 80th minute to advance the lead 3-0. They would go on to add another goal 45 seconds later to seal the 4-0 victory.

Goalie Kari Naylor had a season high 14 saves on the night.

The Pioneers will return to action on Thursday, October 30th as they will host Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Ashland University. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
