The Tiffin University men's basketball team ended 2017 on the right note, toppling Carlow University 85-56 on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons were lethal from beyond the arc, nailing 10 triples as they shot 41.7% from beyond the arc.

Tiffin started like a house on fire, opening the game on a 10-0 run in a little under three minutes of action. Tiffin continued to build their lead, marching ahead with multiple long range jumpers, and at the midway point of the 1st half held a 21-7 advantage. Tristan Popa's made trey with 06:33 remaining in the half gave Tiffin an even 20-point lead at 31-11. The Celtics cut into Tiffin's lead slightly, but the Dragons still held a comfortable 40-25 lead at halftime.

Tristan Popa led the charge for Tiffin on the offensive end in the 1st half, pouring in 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting from beyond the arc. Austin Adams also reached double figures in the 1st half, scoring 10 points on 5 of 9 shooting from the field.

Tiffin continued to dominate as the 2nd half rolled on, hitting five more triples as they scored 45 2nd half points. Tiffin was dominant on the boards, out rebounding the Celtics 46-24 leading to 14 second chance points. The Dragons knocked in 52.9% of their 2nd half field goals as Tiffin rolled to finish line with an 85-56 lead in tow.

Austin Adams and Tristan Popa led Tiffin in scoring, each pouring in 18 points in completely opposite ways. Popa was 6 of 9 from the field with all six made shots being three pointers. Adams finished 9 of 14 from the field, with all coming inside the arc. Shane Waldon was the only other Dragon in double figures scoring 16 points and grabbing four boards.

Tiffin moves to 4-8 overall.
