The Malone University women's soccer team lost its first game of the season at non-conference opponent Youngstown State University, 5-0, on Friday night.

Malone held the NCAA Division I Penguins to a 2-0 score at the half, but YSU continued their momentum, scoring three more in the second half.

The Pioneers had two shot attempts. Goalie Katelyn Thut had seven saves on the night.

The Pioneers, now 1-1 on the season, will return to action on Thursday, September 11, when they head south to play West Virginia Wesleyan University. Kick off will begin at 4 p.m.
