BIG RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (7-9, 3-4 GLIAC) finished its three-match road trip at Ferris State (14-5, 7-0 GLIAC) on Sunday. The Bulldogs are ranked fifth in the Midwest region and 47th nationally.
WSU lost all three doubles matches.
Trey Keating (Troy, Mich.) and
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) dropped their match 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Gopinath Menta (Hyderabad, India) and
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France) fell 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 doubles,
Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) and
Ryan Carlson (Armada, Mich.) were bested, 8-4.
Fazyl Kechai lost at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-2. Charriere was beaten in straight sets at No. 2 singles while Keating fell 6-0, 6-4 at the third flight of singles.
Carlson and Reed lost at No. 4 and 5 singles, respectively.
The lone victory of the day for the Green & Gold came at No. 6 singles where
Luke Ruocco (Lewes, England) won 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.
The Warriors conclude the regular season with two home matches on Saturday and Sunday. Lake Superior State visits Detroit on Saturday for a 1 PM contest.
