Eagles And Free Throw Line Sink Dragons

The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell on Saturday afternoon 87-65 to the Ashland University Eagles. The Eagles held a 28-18 advantage at the charity stripe, and out rebounded the Dragons 33-26.

The Dragons played well for the first 15 minutes of the 1st half, holding a 25-24 lead with 06:25 left before halftime. But the Eagles hit a hot streak in the final six minutes of the half, outscoring Tiffin 24-8 to take a 48-33 lead to the half.

A 13-4 run for the Eagles in the first five minutes of action to start the 2nd half put Ashland ahead 61-37. The Eagles did most of their damage from the charity stripe, knocking down 17 of 21 attempts. Tiffin scored 32-points in the 2nd half, but their first half deficit was too much to overcome as the Eagles dropped Tiffin 87-65.

Tiffin was led by Terrell Mabins with 14 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the field. Alex Brown netted 11 points for Tiffin, and Quentin Jones scored 13 points off the bench in 18 minutes of action.

The Dragons fall to 6-13 overall and 2-9 in the GLIAC.
