Tiffin University (1-2) opened its spring season on Feb. 2, travelling to 7th ranked Southern Indiana and barely falling 5-4.

The Dragons opened up with just one win in doubles play. Luis Ludena/Elio Lezama Perez won at first doubles 8-3, but Hugo Chatras/Santiago de la Rosa Mora fell 8-2 and Toby Cutting/Sorin Navrotchi got shut out 8-0.

In singles, the Dragons tried to turn the tide but only picked up three wins. De la Rosa Mora won 6-4, 6-0, while Cutting posted a 6-3, 6-4 win and Navrotchi won 7-6, 6-4. But Tom Arias's 6-3, 7-5 loss at fourth singles put USI over the top. Ludena (7-6, 6-2) and Perez (6-4, 6-1) also fell in singles play.
