Oilers Fall 23-13 Against Falcons

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team suffered a 23-13 loss at home to Notre Dame (Ohio) on Tuesday, April 22 to give them a 6-10 record on the season.

The Oilers trailed by a score of 12-3 at the break, but cut the lead to 15-11 with ten minutes to play in the game. The Falcons then went on a run by scoring the next three goals to put the Oilers away.

Freshman Kyra Bradley had five goals to lead Findlay while sophomore Sarah Lankton had four goals, 11 draw controls, four ground balls and three assists.

Sophomores Elisabeth Montalvo and Makenzie Barnwell each tallied two goals apiece for the Oilers as well.

Sophomore Katie Poorman took the loss between the pipes, but made a school record 14 saves in the game.

The Oilers turned the ball over 34 times in the game and were out-shot by a 42-25 margin.  Notre Dame also held a 42-31 advantage in ground balls.

The Oilers will close their regular season on Friday at Walsh. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Canton, Ohio.
