It was another close call for the Dragons, dropping a pair of one run games that included a 4-3 loss in eight innings, the third straight series in which they have played an extra inning game.

Game One

Pitching was the name of the game throughout, with the two teams combining for five hits through five innings of play. Kimmy Reynolds used her defense to her advantage, collecting a pair of double plays to escape danger.

In the 6th inning, Kimmy faced her first speed bump, as the Eagles led off the inning with a double. A sac bunt moved the runner to third, and a base hit to center field made it 1-0 Ashland. Two more runs crossed in the Eagles half of the 7th, scoring on two hits and a pair of Tiffin errors to lead 3-0.

Tiffin waited until the bitter end to spark their offense, but when they did, it fired on all cylinders. Kate-Lynn Urgo reached on a fielder's choice with one out. She scrambled around the bases on Brooke Lambert's single to right field that was misplayed by the Eagles, allowing Lambert to motor to second base. With Lambert at second and Samantha Ringwalt at first, Jamie Sevenish delivered a clutch triple down the right field line to tie the score at 3-3.

In extra innings, the Eagles posted a single run in the 8th to regain the advantage at 4-3. Tiffin had their chance in the bottom half of the inning, loading the bases with two outs. The rally was cut short with a ground out for the final out of the game.

Kimmy Reynolds was the tough luck loser on the mound, tossing eight innings, allowing nine hits, four runs, two earned, and two walks. Sierra Besser-Paul and Brooke Lambert were the only two Dragons to record multiple hits.

Game Two

Game two was just as hotly contested, with Tiffin jumping out to an early lead.

A single and sacrifice bunt put Libby Crow at second with two outs, and Michelle Poe brought home the first run of the game with a solid single to left field to put Tiffin up 1-0.

Tiffany Snell cruised through the first three innings of her start, but a walk in the 4th came back to haunt her. The free pass issued by Snell scored on a double by the Eagles, tying the score at 1-1.

The score remained tied until the bottom of the sixth. Ashland manufactured the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly to left field to go up 2-1. The Dragons went quietly in their final at bat, dropping their 8th one run game of the season.

Snell tossed the ball well for Tiffin, allowing five hits and two runs over her six innings of work. Jamie Sevenish was the lone Dragon with multiple hits, finishing 2 for 4.

The two losses drop Tiffin to 15-23 overall and 2-11 in GLIAC play.
