Men's Soccer Falls to Cardinals

University Center, MI- The University of Findlay men's soccer team lost to the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals on Wednesday, October 12. This loss gives the Oilers a 5-7-1 overall record and a 4-6-1 conference record.

The Oilers defense, lead by freshman Kegan Winkler and junior goalkeeper Ben Richter kept the Cardinals out of the net in the first half.

In the first half, junior Ben Richter had three saves to end the half tied with the Cardinals 0-0.

Four minutes into the second half, Saginaw Valley scored inside the box off of a cross to put the Cardinals in the lead 1-0.

Two minutes later, the Cardinals capitalized again inside the box to take the lead 2-0.

Sixty minutes into the game, Saginaw valley put the ball in the back of the net off of a deflection inside the eighteen, which gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead.

With seventeen minutes left in the game, the Cardinals headed the ball into the goal to give the Cardinals the win 4-0.

The Oilers will take the field again on Sunday, October 16 at 3:00pm at Tiffin University to take on the Dragons.
