The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell 85-75 in overtime to Northwood University on Thursday night. The free throw line made all the difference for Northwood, holding a 21-14 advantage over Tiffin.

Both sides got out of the gate slow, combining to score only nine points in the first five minutes of action. The Timberwolves began their run with back-to-back triples to hold a 11-4 lead. Northwood continued to press forward, pushing their lead to ten points at 16-6 with 12:00 remaining in the 1st half. The Dragons never flinched, roaring back with points in the paint on a 12-3 run to trail 19-18. Both sides traded buckets towards the end of the half, and the two teams started where they began, tied at 31-31 as they headed to the locker room.

Northwood went on the offensive in the paint in the 2nd half, scoring 24 of their 37 points down low. The Dragons countered with perimeter jump shots, hitting six triples in the 2nd half. The most important of those three-pointers came from Alex Brown with just 12 seconds left, tying the game for the 9th time, 68-68. 

In overtime the Timberwolves lived at the stripe, connecting on 9 of 10 attempts as they downed the Dragons 85-75.

Justin Miller was a sniper for Tiffin, nailing 5 of 12 three-pointers on his way to a 21 point, five rebound game. Alex Brown netted 18 points while snagging seven boards. Austin Adams recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards, but fouled out prior to overtime. The last Dragon in double figures was Terrell Mabins with 11 points and four assists.

The Dragons fall to 7-20 overall and 3-16 in the GLIAC. Tiffin will finish their season this Saturday with a matchup with Saginaw Valley State.
