Tiffin University (1-4-1) fell in a non-conference game against a conference opponent on the road at Ferris State, falling in the closing minutes 2-1.

The Dragons battled throughout, not allowing a goal in the opening half as the two teams finished the first half in a scoreless tie.

The Bulldogs scored in the 63rd minute, as Carley Dubbert knocked home a shot off a one touch pass. But the Dragons answered in the 80th minute, when Svetlana Gudenkova took a ball and tied the score on a breakaway goal.

The deadlock was shortlived, however, as FSU's Abigail Gilmore scored just three minutes later to give the Bulldogs the lead for good.

The Dragons could not manage another shot over the final 11 minutes as the Bulldogs held on for the win.

Samantha Ortenzi was strong in goal for TU, tying her own single game record with 17 saves over 90 minutes.

Overall Ferris State held a commanding 34-15 shot advantage, including a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.
