Griffins Win 18-10 and Emma Simmers Earns Double Hat Trick

Greensburg, PA- Redshirt junior Emma Simmers scores a double hat trick as the Seton Hill Women's Lacrosse team (4-1, 0-1 PSAC) puts away Tiffin University (0-5). Seton Hill's offensive overpowered the Dragons. The Griffins won 18-10 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Seton Hill never trailed the opposition. They went on 7 different scoring runs throughout the game. The Griffins were very disciplined offensively and never allowed the Tiffin offensive to gain momentum. At half time the Griffins held the lead 11-4.
 
Redshirt Junior Emma Simmers capitalized on free position shots (4-5) as she had herself a double hat trick and 1 assist on the afternoon. Senior Morgan Cain also had a hat trick. Alessandra Nicholas had 2 goals, one of which on a fancy dodge down the alley showing off her excellent footwork ability. 4 other Griffins also added scoring contributions.
 
Meghan Hollar earned the win in cage and stopped 5 shots and Melanie Morget played the second half and contributed 3 saves of her own.

The Griffins will return to action Tuesday March 18. They will travel to Shepherdstown, WV to take on the Shepherd University Rams at 4pm.
