Oilers Fall to Wildcats

Findlay, OH- The University of Findlay men's soccer team lost to the Northern Michigan University Wildcats on Sunday, September 25 at DeHaven Field.  This loss gives the Oilers a 2-5 overall record and a 1-4 conference record.

The first half of the game proved to be scoreless, as the Wildcats and Oilers battled mostly in the middle of the field.

The Oilers attained one shot that was blocked by the Northern Michigan goalkeeper and led to a corner. 

The Wildcats attained three shots with one shot on goal saved by senior goalkeeper Joe McClanahan.

The Oilers defense, led by junior Bailey Crawford and senior goalkeeper Joe McClanahan kept the Wildcats out of the net to end the half tied 0-0.

With twenty minutes left in the game, Northern Michigan capitalized on a goal, putting the Wildcats in the lead 1-0. After the play, the Wildcats received their second yellow card of the game due to excessive celebration.

With ten minutes left in the match, Northern Michigan headed the ball in the back of the net, ending the game 2-0 in favor of the Wildcats.

The Oilers will take the pitch again on Wednesday, September 28 at 4:00pm at Northwood University.
