Tiffin University fell behind early in doubles play and could not catch up, as they fell to 6-2 with a 6-3 loss at Chowan on the start of their spring trip.
Luis Ludena/Toby Cutting fell 8-4 in their first doubles match, while Elio Lezama Perez/Agustin Mangone and Andrew Isaac/Sorin Novratchi fell by identical 8-3 scores to put TU in a 3-0 hole heading to singles play.
TU needed to pull out five of the six singles matches to come back and win, but they could only manage three wins. Isaac won 6-2, 6-1 while Toby Cutting gutted out a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win. Sorin Novratchi also won 6-4, 6-4.
While Kopronica fell 6-1, 6-4, Ludena fell in a three set match 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 and Lezama also fell 7-6, 6-1.
