DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's tennis team got back on the winning track Friday, improving to 6-1 overall and 6-1 in the GLIAC with a 6-3 win over Ferris State (3-3 overall, 3-3 GLIAC) at the WSU Tennis Courts.

Dasha Kuznetsova (Moscow, Russia) senior
Liz Ghellere (Ararangua, Brazil) and freshman
Linda Liong (Tanjung Kidurong, Malaysia) were all double-winners for the Warriors.
RESULTS
- Kuznetsova and Ghellere snapped their two-match losing streak at No. 1 doubles, winning 8-2 over Nika Hein and Silvia Verebes. Individually, Kuznetsova won 6-2, 6-4 over Verebes in the second singles flight, with Ghellere winning 6-0, 6-4 over Nicole Meylor in the fourth slot.

Irena van Meer (Amsterdam, Netherlands) at the third doubles flight, winning 8-3 over Arien Kissinger and Teodora Stefanovic. In singles play, she defeated Lauren Lomax 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 in the fifth flight.Â

Khadija Da-Silva (Burlington, Ont. / Robert Bateman S.S.) paired with senior
Andreea Mitrache (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Warren Cousino) in the second doubles falling, falling 8-5 to Meyor and Lomax. Da-Silva rallied at No. 3 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2 over Stefanovic.
- At No. 1 singles, Mitrache fell 6-4, 7-6 (4), while freshman
Brianna Douglas lost 6-0, 6-4 to Kissinger in the sixth and final flight.Â
