Oilers Pound Dragons, Win 94-75

The University of Findlay came away with a 94-75 victory over Tiffin University on Feb. 6 in Croy Gymnasium to extend their winning streak to 12 games.

The Oilers, who are now 17-5 on the season with a 14-3 record in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play, shot 56.9 percent (33-of-58) from the floor in the game. They also hit 50 percent (12-of-24) of their three point tries and held a 32-22 advantage on the boards. Their 12 three pointers marked the fourth straight game of hitting ten or more triples.

Sophomore forward Taren Sullivan, who set a new career-high with 26 points in the Oilers win over Ohio Dominican on Thursday, established a new personal best with 27 in the victory against Tiffin. Sullivan made 9-of-15 shot attempts and canned a career-high five triples. He also added five rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough had 17 points while sophomore guard Austin Gardner tied his career-high with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting.

Senior forward John Staley recorded a double-double with ten points and a career-high 11 boards while senior guard Dylan Kaufman chipped in ten points and three rebounds.

Junior forward Tyler Stern-Tucker provided seven points off the bench while junior guard Ricardo Smith had a good all-around performance with one points, five rebounds and four assists in 12 minutes of work.

The Dragons, who shot 55.6 percent (30-of-54) from the floor, were led by Alex Brown and Tony Kynard, who each scored 18 points in the game.

The Oilers will now prepare to battle Ashland University on Feb. 11. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. in Ashland, Ohio.
