The University of Findlay women's soccer team finished their double overtime tilt against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Lake Erie College in a 1-1 tie. It was the last home game of the season for the Oilers, which took place on Thursday, October 30.
The Oilers took a 1-0 lead when senior Eryn Weber knocked in a goal at the 45 minute mark. Her goal was assisted by freshman Jensen Kleis.
The Storm tied up the contest at the 55 minute mark when Elizabeth Awuah scored off of an assist from Ashley Pyrce.
The Oilers had the edge offensively with a 19-12 advantage in shots and a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks; unfortunately they were unable to capitalize on their scoring opportunities to claim the victory.
Oiler senior goalkeeper Samantha Trimboli picked up the tie in the net and made four saves in the contest.
The Oilers, who are now 6-7-3 on the season with the tie and have a 3-5-3 mark in GLIAC play, will travel to Ashland, Ohio on Saturday, November 1 for their season finale showdown against GLIAC rival Ashland University.
