Oilers Kick Off Season With Shutout Victory Against St. Joseph's

The University of Findlay women's soccer team won their season opener by shutting out Saint Joseph's 3-0 on Friday, September 5 in Rensselaer, Ind.

The Oilers jumped out to a 1-0 lead when junior Kirsten Fruchey scored at the 20 minute mark.  Her goal was assisted by junior Kendall Kwiatkowski

The Oilers extended their lead when senior Samantha Edwards scored unassisted at the 49 minute mark.

The Oilers delivered their final blow against Saint Joseph's when freshman Jensen Kleis scored unassisted at the 56 minute mark. 

Findlay goalkeeper Madison Moore claimed the victory in the net and had seven saves in the process. 

Findlay had the edge offensively with a 19-16 advantage in the shot department. 

The Oilers return to the field on Sunday, September 7 at noon for their home opener when they face Lewis University.
