The Tiffin University men's basketball team got back on track on Thursday night, dropping Davenport University 64-57. Tiffin's defense held the Panthers to 54 points on 39.6% shooting from the field.

For the first part of the 1st half, Tiffin and Davenport were neck-and-neck, but the Dragons created distance shortly after the midway point of the half. With Tiffin leading 12-9, the Dragons made their push with a 13-2 run to lead 25-11. Tiffin maintained their double digit lead as the half moved along, with the Dragons ahead 27-17 with a little under five minutes remaining. The Panthers closed the gap slightly, but the Dragons headed to the halftime locker room up 31-24.

The offense kept rolling as the 2nd half started, with Tiffin pushing forward on a 13-4 run to lead 44-28. The Dragons were balanced in the 2nd half, hitting 48.1% of their field goal attempts and 4 of 8 three-point attempts. On the defensive end, Tiffin held the Panthers to only 40% shooting from the field and allowed only 5 made three-pointers. The Panthers were able to close the gap and make it interesting as the game crept towards its completion, but the Dragons held Davenport to only one made field goal over the course of the final two minutes to claim a 64-57 win.

The Dragons had five individuals score all the points, with all five being in double figures. Austin Adams led the Dragons in both scoring and rebounding with 17 points and nine rebounds. Justin Miller pitched in with 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting from beyond the arc. Terrell Mabins added 11 points and six rebounds, and Shane Waldon came off the bench to score 11 points. Alex Brown filled the box score, posting 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Alex sits just two rebounds short of 500 for his career, which would make him the first player in Tiffin history to accumulate 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 200 assists.

Tiffin moves to 7-14 overall and 3-10 in the GLIAC.
