Men's Soccer Slays Dragons

Tiffin, OH- The University of Findlay men's soccer team slayed the Tiffin University Dragons on Sunday, October 16.  This win gives the Oilers a 6-7-1 overall record and a 5-6-1 record in the GLIAC conference.

The Oilers took an early 1-0 lead with a cross by sophomore Michael Shaikly into the box and a goal by sophomore Josh Burton in the 15th minute of the game.

At the end of the first half, the Oilers had three shots to Tiffin's nine shots.

The second half proved to be scoreless, giving the Oilers the win over the Dragons. 

The Oilers defense, lead by freshman Kegan Winkler and junior goalkeeper Ben Richter kept the Dragons out of the back of the net to shut out Tiffin. 

At the end of the game, the Oilers had a total of seven shots to the Dragon's twenty shots.

Junior goalkeeper Ben Richter attained seven saves to shut out the Dragons.

This win gives junior goalkeeper Ben Richter a 4-2-1 record for the season.

Sophomore Michael Shaikly leads the Oilers in assists for the year, giving him five assists for the season.

The Oilers will take the pitch again on Sunday, October 23rd at Northern Michigan University at 4:00pm in the Upper Peninsula.
