Tiffin University (13-1) had little trouble in their opening round match at the GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament, dispatching Michigan Tech 5-1.
TU opened strong, sweeping the doubles matches after a hard fought round. Caroline Nelhage/Aimee Kaye posted a tough 8-6 victory, while Emily Sim/Adel Musina also won 8-4. Bianca Avram/Rachelmary Brozovich gave TU a commanding lead overall with an 8-5 win.
Heading to singles play, Nelhage continued her dominance with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Musina finished off the Huskies with a 7-6, 6-1 win. The sole loss came at third singles, as Sim fell 6-4, 6-2.
TU now takes on Grand Valley State at 3:45 pm in the GLIAC Semifinals.
