Dragons battle for 5-4 win over Hillsdale

Tiffin University (7-6) battled from behind all day long but pulled out big singles victories to defeat Hillsdale on the road 5-4.

Tiffin opened with a win at first doubles but dropped the other two matches to trail 2-1 heading to singles play. Luis Ludena/Elio Lezama Perez won 8-6 in the closest doubles contest, while Nikita Parfenov/Toby Cutting fell 8-4 and Santiago de la Rosa Mora/Tom Arias lost 8-3.

After Ludena lost 6-0, 6-2 in singles, Arias won in straight sets 6-4, 6-1. The remaining singles matches all went three sets, with TU winning three of them. Parfenov gutted out a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory, while Cutting did the same, winning 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Sorin Navrotchi also posted a decisive comeback win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. The lone three set loss was from de la Rosa Mora 6-0, 5-7, 6-2.
