Errors Plague Oilers in Final Game of Series With ODU

The University of Findlay baseball team wrapped up their three-game series with Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, OH on Sunday, April 13th with a 14-2 loss.

The Panthers used a pair of big innings to score their 14 runs as they scored two runs in the first, seven runs in the third, and four in the seventh. The other run came in the fourth inning.

The Oilers offense came in the second and eighth innings. In the second, down only 2-0, Derek Draper began with an infield single and was followed by a hit by pitch to Nick Antonides. Joe Sickler reached on an error and a run scored when Kevin Schrock reached on a fielder's choice to second base.

Findlay didn't score again until the eighth when they were down 14-1. Austin Adams reached base on a strikeout then error by the catcher. The next batter, Draper, drove in Adams with a double to left center. That would be the only hit of the inning and last run of the game for Findlay.

In an effort to spark the team, 22 different players saw time on the field including five different pitchers. Drew Hargrove was the recipient of the tough loss as he pitched 2.1 innings and allowed nine runs, six earned, on 12 hits.

Draper led the offense as he collected two hits, an RBI, and a run scored.
