STAT OF THE WEEK
9.9 • Turnovers per game for the Huskies—fourth best mark in the nation. Tech has committed fewer than 10 tunovers in 12 of its 26 games and is 10-2 in those tilts.

STELZER NAMED PROGRAM'S FIFTH ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
Ben Stelzer became Michigan Tech men's basketball's fifth player to earn Academic All-America recognition when he was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team Wednesday (Feb. 25). The preseason GLIAC Player of the Year leads the GLIAC in scoring at 22.1 points per game. He has posted 552 points this season to run his career total to 1,689—seventh-most in program history. The 6-1 guard also leads the nation in 3-point field goals per game (4.0). He broke the Huskies' career record for 3-pointers made (now with 352). In the classroom, Stelzer owns a 3.69 cumulative grade point average in finance. He joins an exclusive group of men's basketball players who have earned Academic All-America status. Austin Armga (2014), Wayne Helmila (1985), J.T. Luginski (2002 and 2003) and Russ VanDuine (1980 and 1981) are the others.

ROMBACK GOES FOR 15 EACH GAME LAST WEEK
Phil Romback matched his season high in both games last week with 15 points. He was 7-of-12 from the field in an 83-81 overtime win at Northwood and 4-of-7 in a 74-72 loss at Lake Superior State with 7-of-7 free throw shooting. Romback has averaged 8.4 points during the month of February with four games in double figures. The senior joined the starting lineup Feb. 5 at No. 17 Ferris State, and the team is 5-1 since then.

THE PLAYOFF PICTURE
Michigan Tech sits in a tie for third place in the GLIAC standings. The Huskies can reach as high as second with a win and a Saginaw Valley State loss. They can also drop to fourth with a loss and a Ferris State win. Tech holds the tiebreaker in any ties involving SVSU and/or Ferris. Michigan Tech has clinched a home GLIAC quarterfinal game next Wednesday (Mar. 4).

TECH LOOKING FOR REVENGE VS. WILDCATS
Michigan Tech will look to earn the season split with Northern Michigan after the Wildcats claimed a 67-62 victory at the SDC Gym earlier this month (Feb. 2). Ben Stelzer scored 37 points including 24 in the second half to help the Black and Gold cut a 16-point deficit to three in the final minute. NMU holds a 121-74 advantage in the all-time series. Tech has won seven of the last nine matchups.

HUSKY BITES
Michigan Tech had its season-long, five-game winning streak snapped last Saturday (Feb. 21) at Lake Superior State. Tech has had four streaks of at least four games this season … The Huskies are 2-2 vs. ranked teams … The Black and Gold suffered thier first loss of the season when scoring 70 points or more; they are now 13-1 when putting up 70+ … Tech is 5-0 in games played in lower Michigan and 8-4 in the U.P.
