Ashland threw their GLIAC Pitcher of the Year candidate, Brandyn Sittinger, in the first contest and he delivered and improved his record to 10-0 on the season.

The Eagles used a couple of four-run innings, the fourth and fifth, to beat the Oilers and improve to a GLIAC North leading 20-7 in conference play.

Findlay did not get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the seventh when, with two outs, freshman Jordan Williams roped his first collegiate hit, a double to right center field. He scored two batters later on a single to left from sophomore Anthony Ondrejcak.

The Oilers finished the game with one run on six hits. They made three errors and left nine runners on base.

Senior Mason Mayberry, now 3-3 on the year, took the loss on the hill as he pitched four innings and allowed eight runs, six earned, on nine hits. He struck out three and walked three.

Game 2 (L 7-0) Box Score Video Replay

A big ninth inning for Ashland took a close game and put it out of reach as the Eagles scored four runs in the final frame to put Findlay away.

The game was back and forth with the two squads trading zeros until the top of the sixth inning when the Purple and Gold finally cracked the scoreboard with a single run. Two more in the seventh made the score 3-0 and the third four-run inning of the day made it 7-0, the final score.

The Oilers are back in action for the final double-header of the year when they take on Ashland on Sunday, May 8 at 1:00 pm. The seniors will be honored before the start of the second game.
