Oilers Win In Double Overtime Against Ferris State 2-1

The University of Findlay women's soccer team defeated Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Ferris State University 2-1 in double overtime on Friday, October 3 in Big Rapids, Michigan. 

The Oilers jumped out to a 1-0 lead when senior Danielle Hart scored at the 8 minute mark.  Her goal was assisted by senior Eryn Weber

Ferris State tied up the contest when Casey Shauman scored at the 53 minute mark. 

The Oilers offense came through in the clutch when Hart scored the game-winning goal at the 105 minute mark.  It was Hart's second goal of the contest and 4th goal on the season. 

Findlay goalkeeper Samantha Trimboli picked up the victory in the net and 13 saves in the process.

Ferris State dominated offensively with a 33-14 advantage in shots and an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks, however, the Oilers prevailed for the victory as they capitalized on their scoring opportunities.

The Oilers, who are now 5-3 on the season with a 2-1 mark in GLIAC play, will travel to Tiffin, Ohio to face GLIAC rival Tiffin University on Tuesday, October 7.
