Reynolds' gem earns Dragons split with Northwood

Tiffin University (23-26, 11-15 GLIAC) got a solid outing from senior Kimmy Reynolds on Senior Day, getting a 3-2 victory before falling 3-0 in the nightcap against Northwood.

Reynolds, along with Amanda Rock and Ally Rock, were honored during Senior Day festivities, and Reynolds guided the Dragons to a win with a solid mount outing, allowing 5 hits and one earned run over 7 innings while also fanning 5.

TU got on the board first in the fourth inning when Brooke Lambert singled and came on a Gabrielle Hess's double.

TU upped their lead to 2-0 in the fifth inning. After a sacrifice advanced pinch runner Emily Williams to third base, a Jamie Sevenish ground out to first sent Williams home, where she just beat the throw to build TU's lead.

In the sixth inning, Northwood tallied two runs to tie the score but the Dragons wasted no time in responding. Witih one out, Hess drilled a triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Chloe Swaisgood.

NU challenged in the seventh inning. With a runner on second and two out, Reynolds finished the game by fanning the final batter.

In the nightcap, Tiffany Snell threw well, lasting 6 innings and allowing 6 hits, but one of those hits was a two-run home run in the 4th inning that gave NU the lead. 

TU had a big threat in the fifth inning when they loaded the bases with just one out on a hit by pitch, an error by the pitcher, and a single. But two consecutive fielder's choices resulted in a runner being thrown out at home and an unassisted putout at third base to end the threat.

April Bennett pitched the seventh inning in relief, with the Timberwolves tacking on an insurance run, but the Dragons could not get a run home.

Sevenish led the Dragons in game two with 2 hits including a double.
