The Warriors scored in the bottom of the first as

WSU added a single run in the bottom of the third using the same formula from the first inning -- Allen with a leadoff single and Banton with a sacrifice bunt, but this time
Rebecca Stanley (Waterloo, Ont. / Waterloo C.I.) recorded the RBI single.
Meanwhile, WSU starter
Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) retired the first nine Dragon batters until Ariel Adelsen led off the fourth with a home run. Hanes responded by retiring seven of the next MSUM batters.
Wayne State added an insurance run in the sixth as
Stephanie LeClair (Kitchener, Ont. / Forest Heights C.I.) smacked her third home run of the campaign.
The Dragons had runners at second and third and only one out in the top of the seventh on a single, hit by pitch and sacrifice bunt, but Hanes ended the contest on a ground out and strikeout.
Allen went 4-for-4 with two runs scored, while Stanley, Omelanchuk and LeClair each had two hits.
