No. 3 Lindenwood Defeats Tiffin With Strong 2nd Half

The Tiffin University women's lacrosse team fell in their season opener 15-4 to 3rd ranked Lindenwood. The Dragons held their own in the opening half, but were shutout in the 2nd half by the Lions.

The Dragons opened the half like a house on fire, netting the first goal of 2018 at the 27:12 mark courtesy of Amie Morrison on a free position shot. Elle MacMillan went back-to-back to give the Dragons a 3-0 lead, netting the first goal at the 25:43 mark and then just 43 seconds later to give Tiffin a 3-0 lead. 

Lindenwood responded with a 3-0 run of their own to tie the score, but Elle Hamilton found the back of the net for the first time this year with a little under 20 minutes left in the half to give Tiffin a 4-3 advantage. The Lions flexed their muscle as the half came to a close, finishing the 1st half on a 5-0 run to lead 8-4 at the break.

The Lions dominated the 2nd half, shutting out Tiffin 7-0 on the scoreboard. The Lions held a 28-10 advantage in shots in the 2nd half, and forced Tiffin into 19 total turnovers. 

Tiffin was led by Elle MacMillan on the offensive end, netting a pair of goals on four shots. Elle Hamilton filled the box score for Tiffin, scoring a goal while collecting three ground balls and four draw controls. 

The Dragons will have time to recover from the setback, playing their next game on March 4 against East Stroudsburg.
