Edinboro Opens 2014 Campaign with 19-4 Win at Wheeling Jesuit

accounted for the first goal of the season, scoring 46 seconds into the match. The Fighting Scots would score four goals in the first 78 seconds of the match and led 12-1 at the half. Edinboro outscored the Cardinals 7-3 in the final 30 minutes with a running clock.

Cooke had to replace the top four scorers from last year's squad, but a pair of freshmen provided plenty of offense in their first collegiate games. Alexa Healy scored six goals, with Hrycko adding four goals along with an assist.

In all, seven different players scored goals. Jenny Wirth added three goals, with Rebecca Martin, the top returning scorer from 2013, adding two goals and six assists. Hannah Mong also scored two goals, while Samantha Tomasic had a goal and an assist. Alayna Davis also scored a goal. Anna Purdy had three assists

Edinboro outshot Wheeling Jesuit 33-17.  Autumn Held played the first 42:44 in goal, giving up one goal and recording seven saves..

Edinboro returns to action on Friday, March 14, starting their three-match spring trip at Alderson-Broaddus. The match gets underway at 4 p.m.
