Oilers Give Ernst 100th Career Victory, Beat Malone 83-67

The University of Findlay men's basketball team won their ninth straight game with an 83-67 victory against Malone University on Jan. 30 in Canton, Ohio. The win gives the Oilers a 14-5 record on the season with an 11-3 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59) from the floor and canned a season-high 16-of-30 (53.3%) shot attempts from behind the three point line. They also held the Pioneers to a 43.5 percent (27-of-62) shooting clip en route to securing the 100th career victory for head coach Charlie Ernst.

Sophomore forward Taren Sullivan paced the team with 18 points and eight rebounds. Sullivan hit 6-of-10 shot attempts from the field and also canned three triples.

Sophomore guard Martyce Kimbrough hit three triples and finished the game with 15 points while senior guard Dylan Kaufman splashed four treys and ended the win with 14 points and four rebounds.

Sophomore guard Nick Ruthsatz completed the game with ten points and three assists while sophomore guard Elijah Kahlig had nine points on the strength of a 3-for-4 showing from behind the three point line.

The Pioneers were led by Brian Stone, who came off the bench for a game-high 29 points.

The Oilers will return home to host Wayne State University on Monday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
