Oilers Fall 20-10 to Westminster

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team opened their season with a 20-10 loss against Westminster in St. Paul, Minn.

The Oilers fell behind 10-6 at the break and closed the gap to three early on in the second half before Westminster rattled off four straight goals. The Oilers would then get no closer than six to Westminster as they dropped their first game of the 2017 campaign.

Findlay out-shot Westminster 33-26 and held a 17-15 advantage in draw controls. They also held a 24-22 advantage in ground balls, but were unable to score on free position attempts, going 0-for-4 in the game.

Seniors Allison Kelly and Kyra Bradley paced the team with three goals apiece. Kelly also added three assists while junior Olivia Sherman had two goals and three assists.

Sophomore Brie Caruso chipped in two goals while sophomore Jacelyn Litman recorded one assist.

Junior Brooke Eicher was saddled with the loss after allowing 20 goals. She made four saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow at Concordia-St. Paul.
