The Tiffin University men's basketball team fell to the Lakers of Grand Valley State University on Saturday afternoon by the final count of 84-62. The Lakers dominated the paint, holding a 44-32 rebounding advantage and 30-16 lead in points in the paint.

It was Tiffin's second game without leading scorer and rebounder Austin Adams due to injury, and the Lakers took full advantage. Grand Valley State's offense poured in 48 points in the 1st half, connecting on 52.9% of their field goal attempts and 10 of 19 three-point attempts. The Dragons hit 11 of 30 field goal attempts, but hit a dry spell from beyond the arc as they connected on only 4 of 15 attempts. Tiffin headed to the half down 48-30.

The Dragons played much better in the 2nd half, especially on the defensive end where they held the Lakers to 38.2% shooting from the floor. Tiffin's perimeter defense was vastly improved as well, allowing the Lakers to hit only 2 of 14 three-point attempts. Offensively it was a slow go for Tiffin, hitting only 9 of 28 field goal attempts. In the end, Tiffin couldn't climb out of their 1st half hole, falling 84-62 to Grand Valley State.

The Dragons had three players score in double digits, with Shane Waldon and Justin Miller leading the way with 13 points each. Waldon was Tiffin's top rebounder, hauling in nine. Alex Brown had a nice game for Tiffin, scoring 11 points while collecting five boards, five assists, and three steals.

The Dragons fall to 7-19 overall and 3-15 in the GLIAC.
