Cavaliers Edge Oilers In Overtime 2-1

The University of Findlay men's soccer team lost to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Walsh University in overtime 2-1 on Friday, October 17 at DeHaven Field. 

The Cavaliers quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Bailey Moody scored at the 3 minute mark and the score remained at 1-0 through the rest of the first half.

In the second half, the Oilers tied up the contest when junior Ryan Poyle scored off of a penalty kick at the 73 minute mark. 

Walsh claimed the victory in overtime when Moody scored the golden goal at the 99 minute mark. 

Oiler goalkeeper Joe McClanahan took the loss in the net and had four saves in the contest. 

The Oilers had the advantage offensively with a 14-9 edge in shots and dominated the corner kick department with a 10-1 advantage. 

The Oilers, who are now 3-10 on the season with a 2-8 mark in GLIAC play, will host their final home game of the season at DeHaven Field on Sunday, October 19 when they face GLIAC rival Malone Univeristy.
