The Malone University men's basketball team (3-2, 1-1 GLIAC) used a strong first half to catapult them to their first GLIAC win, an 82-65 road victory over Northern Michigan University (1-5, 0-2 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon.
The score was 17-13 in Malone's favor with 9:46 to go in the first half, before the Pioneers closed the period on a 24-10 run. Sophomore
Christian Graves led the way with 12 first-half points.
Malone used the same offensive efficiency in the second half to swell the lead to as much as 27 points. The 17-point difference in the final score was as close as Northern Michigan got in the entire second half.
Graves led all players with 22 points. Senior Dan Wise added 15 points and six rebounds while senior
Isiah Elliott chipped in with 12 points and eight assists with zero turnovers.
