Tiffin University (5-6) dropped a 7-2 decision to Newberry in spring trip play at Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Close matches went against the Dragons, starting in doubles play, where TU found itself in a 3-0 hole heading to singles competition. Luis Ludena/Elio Lezama Perez and Sorin Navrotchi/Austin Mohamedali both dropped close 8-5 matches, while Toby Cutting/Nikita Parfenov fell 8-1.

TU got two wins in singles play, with de la Rosa Mora posting a 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 victory and Navrotchi winning 6-0, 6-1. But once again the close matches went against TU, with Parfenov falling 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 and Toby Cutting losing 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. Ludena and Lezama both fell in straight sets.
