Dragons win 7th game with 45-21 rout of Storm

Tiffin University (7-3, 6-3 GLIAC) picked up a big win at Lake Erie, coasting to a 45-21 victory that saw the Dragons amass nearly 500 yards of offense.

TU wasted little time getting on the board, scoring the first 24 points of the game. After a 65 yard opening kickoff return by Stefan Willis, the Dragons' Antonio Pipkin hit Davon Johnson on a 28 yard TD strike on TU's second play from scrimmage to take a quick 7-0 lead. 

They added to it with a 7 yard run by Pipkin at the 8:41 mark and a 1 yard run by Kyle Brunson at 3:28 to make it 21-0, Tiffin. Jared Friszman booted a 32 yard field goal to make it 24-0 at the 13:14 mark of the second quarter.

TU came out after halftime and tacked on another score when Charles Holland caught a 15 yard pass from Pipkin to make it 31-7. Brunson added another 1 yard run at the :58 mark of the third quarter to push TU's lead to 38-14, while TU finished their scoring at the 10:11 mark of the final quarter when Pipkin ran in from 5 yards out.

TU held a 21-16 edge in first downs while totaling 485 yards of offense to Lake Erie's 267. TU also held the Storm to 125 yards rushing while posting 5 sacks. Jalen Randolph and Willie Mays had 1.5 sacks apiece, while Austin Jasper had a sack and Nick Lewis and Charles Cole had a half sack each.

Pipkin had a strong day, completing 22 of 28 passes for 267 yards and 2 TDs with one interception while also rushing for 35 yards and 2 more scores. He now needs just 170 yards to become the GLIAC's all time passing leader.

JaQuan Hardy averaged 11.2 yards per carry, totaling 112 yards on 10 carries, while Brunson had 39 yards along with 51 yards receiving with 2 scores. Holland had 51 yards receiving while Trent Stamm had 52 yards receiving.

Stefan Willis also had a field day, averaging 51.5 yards on 4 kick returns and 21 yards on 3 punt returns. He amassed 269 yards of all purpose yardage.

Daijohn Isbell led TU with 6 tackles and 3 tackles for loss, while Randolph had 6 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss. Cole, DJ Steward, Jacob Mertus, and Shawn Scott all had 5 tackles.
