Tiffin University (20-25, 5-13 GLIAC) picked up a pair of conference wins, stunning Saginaw Valley State with an improbable 8 inning 1-0 victory and then turning around and blasting the Cardinals 10-0 in 6 innings for the sweep.

The first game had a surreal conclusion, as the Dragons had no hits entering the 8th inning. The Cardinals had 4 hits but neither team had scored a run. After a Jamie Sevenish walk, Libby Crow broke the long drought with a seeing-eye single up the middle.

After a Sierra Besser-Paul sacrifice moved everyone up a base, the Cardinals decided to intentionally walk Michelle Poe with one out and first base open, but a passed ball during the intentional walk allowed Sevenish to cross the plate and give TU the victory.

Kimmy Reynolds pitched a gem, allowing just 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks over 8 innings.

The nightcap was completely the opposite, as the Dragons exploded for five runs in the opening frame and never looked back.

Libby Crow singled and stole second, subsequently scoring on Poe's RBI single. Hayley Kobie was then hit by a pitch and was joined by Kate-Lynn Urgo after her single loaded the bases. Brooke Lambert was then hit by a pitch to plate a run. Samantha Ringwalt broke open the floodgates with a 2-RBI single, and TU then capped the scoring with a Lambert steal of home.

TU added a run in the 4th inning, as Ringwalt singled and was driven home with two outs by Alayna Lytle double.

TU plated four more runs in the top of the 6th. Urgo and Lambert singled. Urgo then beat the throw home on a fielder's choice, and the Dragons then used small ball to plate more runs, as Lytle put down a bunt single to get another run. A Sevenish fielder's choice plated pinch runner Gabrielle Hess, and Besser-Paul put up a sacrifice fly to score Lytle.

Two TU pitchers combined for the shutout. April Bennett started and got the win, throwing 3+ innings and allowing 2 hits with 3 walks, while Tiffany Snell threw the final three innings for the save. She allowed no hits with 2 strikeouts and a walk.

Crow had 3 hits, while Ringwalt had 2 hits for 3 RBI. Lytle had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI, while Urgo also had 2 hits. Poe, Lambert, Sevenish, and Besser-Paul had RBIs.
