Dragons tame Wildcats 2-0

Tiffin University (7-6-3, 5-4-2 GLIAC) scored goals in each half and picked up another conference win 2-0 over Northern Michigan.

The Dragons battled the Wildcats evenly throughout most of the first half before finally breaking through in the 30th minute when Matthew Tait knocked a long pass from Scott Byrom into the left corner of the net to put TU up 1-0 at halftime.

The Wildcats turned up the intensity in the second half, peppering the Dragons with shots to the tune of a 14-4 shot advantage in the final 45 minutes. The Dragons defense, though, did not break, as Cary Wilson made 3 saves in the game and also benefited from three shots hitting the post and another hitting the crossbar.

TU got a big insurance goal in the 86th minute when Tait flicked a pass to a sliding Marc Albert Feliu, who knocked it home to give TU a two goal advantage.

Overall NMU outshot TU 19-10 while matching TU with 4-4 on corner kicks. 

Wilson got the win in goal, posting the shutout over 90 minutes.
